Yes folks we are entering the worst time of the year, stomach flu season. I hate it, you hate it, and unless you are going to live in a glass bubble for the rest of the Winter you will run into someone who has the stomach flu.
My husband loves to brag that he has never gotten the stomach flu, I used to brag (up until last week) that I hadn't had it since I was six years old. Unfortunately that is no longer true, but the good news, I survived and did it without one panic attack. Luckily it was in part because I had no idea I was even exposed to it. If I had known, well I am sure I would have been stressing and trying every known preventative cure in the book.
So what can we do to stave off this horrid phobia inducing epidemic.
1. Get the flu shot, I don't care if you usually don't vomit from the flu anything that reduces my chances of getting sick is a good thing.
2. Drink Danactive every day or eat Activia yogurt. Who cares if bifidus regularius is pretty much made up, it might help to keep healthy bacteria in my intestines thus killing those bad viruses.
3. Wash or Purell your hand several times a day. A lot of people wash after going to the bathroom or after eating, you need to also wash your hands before eating. You don't want to accidentally put that stomach virus in your tummy along with your peanut butter sandwich.
4. Always carry hand sanitizer, and use it. Have you ever used a bathroom that has run out of soap, not cool.
5. Do not touch toilet handles with your hands, do not touch door knobs with your hands, and do not touch sink handles with your hands. Long sleeves are great in the winter! Use them.
6. Echinacea never hurts.
7. Extra vitamin C is great.
8. Keep some ginger in your purse.
9. Avoid public bathrooms when possible.
10. Avoid people who are suffering with the stomach flu if possible. If you do come in contact with them, wash your hands.
Hopefully this will help. If you have any more tips please share!
